SwapSages exists because eco-product marketing is full of vague claims and very little verification. "Eco-friendly" on a label doesn't tell you what's actually in the bottle, whether a certification is real, or whether the product costs more per use once you account for how long it actually lasts.

The problem isn't motivation — everyone wants to make greener choices. The problem is information: most eco-content is either vague or written without checking the specifics against what's actually verifiable.

So that's what we look at: published ingredient and material lists, certification records (EPA Safer Choice, EWG, GOTS, and similar, checked against the certifier's own listings where they exist), and price-per-use math against the conventional product being replaced. We research products; we don't run laboratory tests, and we say so on the pages where it matters. AI tools help draft our articles, and Kishan is responsible for what gets published.

What began as a handful of laundry and kitchen swaps has grown into hubs covering everything from mineral sunscreens to compostable pet waste bags. When two products are close enough that the honest answer is genuinely "it depends," we put them side by side on a head-to-head comparison instead of forcing a single winner.
